Where We Work
International Presence
HealthBridge, headquartered in Ottawa, Canada, has programs in four countries and projects around the world.
HealthBridge in Bangladesh
HealthBridge's Regional Director for Asia is based in Dhaka, where we work very closely with Work for a Better Bangladesh (WBB Trust), with whom we share an office, provide technical assistance, and jointly implement our programs.

In Bangladesh we began working in Tobacco Control in 1998; we have developed a close relationship with WHO as well as many other national and international organizations. In 2004 we introduced two new program areas: Gender and Livable Cities.
The Gender program focuses on reducing domestic violence and increasing women´s rights. Livable Cities looks at the links between urban growth and transport, and various issues of development, including health, poverty, the environment, and livelihoods.
HealthBridge in India
HealthBridge´s work in India began in November 2001, supporting local initiatives in Tobacco Control policy development and media advocacy.
In the first three years, the Program Director in India worked actively at the national, regional and international levels, encouraging Governments to draft a strong Framework Convention on Tobacco Control. We also worked closely with the Government of India in drafting and enacting a comprehensive tobacco control law. In 2005 our program in India was expanded to include work in Gender and Reproductive Health and in 2010, Livable Cities.
HealthBridge in Vietnam
HealthBridge began working in Vietnam in 1993. HealthBridge Vietnam´s project work has addressed issues related to Tobacco Control, Gender, Reproductive Health, HIV & AIDS, Cancer Control, Livable Cities and Nutrition.
Our activities in Vietnam have traditionally focused on technical assistance, capacity building, formation and strengthening of networks, development of resource materials, and innovative approaches. Through these activities, the HealthBridge Vietnam Office can respond to the technical and capacity building needs of government and local NGOs, and provide the necessary resource materials for their work.
