Le Thi Thu

Program Officer, Vietnam Office

Le Thi Thu has worked in HealthBridge’s Vietnam office as a Program Officer in the areas of Tobacco Control, Nutrition, and Gender since 2000. Thu graduated from the University of Nature and Science, with a Master of Science in Environmental Science and from the University of Teaching Foreign Language with a Bachelor of Arts in English Language. She previously worked for the Research and Training Center for Community Development (RTCCD), a local NGO, as a researcher and field manager in projects related to health systems development and nutrition.

Currently, Thu coordinates the HealthBridge project entitled, Promotion of Family Planning among Ethnic Minority People in Dong Hy District, Thai Nguyen Province. The aim of this project is to increase access to information on reproductive health (RH) and modern contraceptive methods, to build the capacity of local partners to work effectively in the area of RH, and to reduce unwanted pregnancies as well as abortion rate in the selected communes.

In addition, Thu works with the other program officer, Ms. Hoai An, on the project Promoting Male Responsibility towards Greater Gender Equality in Vietnam. The project’s aim is to improve gender equality in Vietnam, particularly by increasing the involvement of men in reproductive health, and by strengthening women’s rights.
